Kettlebell woes

Cut Short

Today I wasn't very motivated to begin with but felt compelled to do something, so Spinkuhl and I pulled out the yoga mats and started a kettlebell routine.

Our first go around consisted of:

  1. Halo - 10 each arm
  2. Single Arm Swing - 20 each arm
  3. Push Press - 12 each arm
  4. Bent-Over Row - 12 each arm
  5. Bicycle kicks - 30 reps
  6. Floor Press - 12 each arm
  7. Crunches - 15 reps
  8. Calf-raises (with kb) - 20 reps
  9. Concentration Bicep Curls - 8 each arm

Those exercises went quick! Felt good but wasn't enough at least while using a 25lb kettlebell. So we decided to do three rounds of a more intense circuit on the Jetsnatch app, for "Fat Loss Circuit for Beginners" consisting of:

  1. Swing - 15 reps
  2. Dead Stop Clean - 15 each arm
  3. Plank with KB pull through - 20 reps
  4. Single Arm Thruster - 10 each arm
  5. Sit ups - 10 reps

This is supposed to be done 6 times and we only set out to do 3 times but right after completing the first round circuit, we got a knock at the door from the neighbors downstairs that the exercises were causing their lights to shake and thus I shut it down for the day.

I will have to negotiate a proper way to allow us to workout but keep the peace another day. Not too thrilled about it but perhaps I'll be able to find solutions to the shaking of the lights between floors. Its an older place, who knows.

For today, I'm content with the effort made. Not everyday has to be balls to the wall, as long as an attempt is made toward improving health and fitness.

The rowerg is set to arrive Monday. I'm looking forward to starting that.

Onward!
